My life before finding religion was a very different one than it is now. Before, it felt as if there was something missing or that there was a true meaning that I hadn’t yet discovered. I had tried things like Yoga and Meditation to try to connect to my spiritual side but still felt like something was lacking in my life. My partner, Lisa, persuaded me to try the Alpha Course, as she already had a relationship with God and could see how it could benefit me. I went to the first session and thoroughly enjoyed it and everyone’s welcoming company. Week after week I could feel myself become more intrigued with Jesus’s teaching and by the end of the course I could feel a real connection to God. All of this led me to continue my journey into faith by doing the Journey of Faith course which taught me about Catholicism and the Church. After the course I felt certain that I wanted to be baptised in the Church, and on the Easter Vigil Mass I was Baptised and Confirmed; it was a very special moment for me, my family and my godparent. Hopefully more people can have a similar experience to me with finding faith in God and have their lives changed in the positive ways mine has.
